I am a beginner in working with Abaqus(v 6.3),I want to model a simple piping system,I use pipe and elbow elements,in section assignment, I select a beam section for the part .But When I run the job,an error occurs due to element properties in section assignment,when I use beam element instead of pipe there is not such an error in job-run.
but I want to use pipe and elbow elements...what can I do to solve this problem?

To get the job done, after creating the part (Pipe layout) you should enter Create Properties dialog box, chose "Pipe" as beam type, assigning it radius and thickness as real constants and material properties. Before meshing, you also should chose "pipe" as element type.
