The General Motors/Brown University Collaborative Research Laboratory for Computational Materials Research has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate to work on computational modeling of fracture in lightweight metals. You can find more information about the position, the lab, and an application form at https://www.brown.edu/Departments/Engineering/Labs/GM_CRL/positions.html.
The successful candidate will work with Professors Vikas Srivastava and Allan Bower, as well as colleagues at GM, to develop a microstructure-based modeling framework that can predict material damage and fracture in advanced high strength steels of relevance to GM, and implement the new method into a stand-alone tool that will enable GM to develop advanced steel material models for CAE simulations.
Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled
Great opportunities!
