I am trying to run a VUMAT subroutine for isotropic hardeining, whenever I input the command "abaqus j=inp_name user=subroutine_name " the analysis begins, the ODB file is generated but in few secs the analysis exits with an error, and the error is..
Abaqus Error: The executable C:\ABAQUS\6.7-1\exec\explicit.exe
aborted with system error code 5.
It also says...
Please check the .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error messages if the files exist. If there are no error messages and you cannot resolve the problem,please run the command "abaqus job=support information=support" to report and save your system information. Use the same command to run Abaqus that you used when the problem occurred. Please contact your local Abaqus supportoffice and send them the input file, the file support.log which you just created, the executable name, and the error code.

I think error: code 5 is memory related error. Try by reducing your output . You can see message only in log file for this error.

Thanks for the reply binod. I was missing *depvar keyword in my input file for my state dependant variables in subroutine. I added that and the subroutine is running fine the error is gone. But still I dont exactly know the reason for error code 5.

I think many factors can lead to erro code 5. In my case, I missed defining "One=1.D0", then the error occured.
