Modeling concrete wrapped CFRP sheet using ANSYS

Submitted by kapadiac on

Hi all

I am currently in my Master Degree in Civil Engineering at University of Michigan. I am doing a research on concrete wrapped CFRP sheets and I want to do Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS. I am not able to model concrete in ANSYS. Can anyone please help me out with that.

Awaiting the reply....

Thank you

Basic Help

Hi

I hope you feeling Good

Because I Model the Reinforced Concrete Column in Ansys , I Know in this way exist many Problems .

for the first wirk , you must do three steps :

1-Modeling Plain Concrete .

2-Modeling Reinforced Concrete ( If You Want to Model wrapped reinforced Concrete ) .

3-Modeling wrapped Reinforced Concrete .

in the end you must vallidate your model with experimental test .

send me your E-mail that I send you Severals PDF's and Files that in those concrete has been Modeled .

regards .

Greetings, I am working on my thesis and I am trying to learn how to model 1) reinforced concrete members and 2) reinforced conccrete members with FRP.  I am unsure of the contact behavior between all elements, contact types, orientations etc.  I would appreciate your help, thank you.

dear sir,

i am going to study on rcc joint shear  behaviour .for the purpose i want to model rcc joint in Ansys . i hav tried to model 3D RCC joint by selecting solid 65 for concrete and link 8 for reinforcement. concrete has been modeled as solid and reinforcement as line element.i feeled difficulties to draw shear reinforcement . and also want to verify my model is OK. so i humbly request u to send me related materials about rcc modelling in ANSYS , so that i can proceed my job. my email id is bishowkumar [at] yahoo.com

hiii all

i make FEA for my master research, i simulate a prestressed concrete beam with two precast units connected by contact element (CONTA.52). i used solid 65 for concrete modelling and link 8 for for prestressing steel with initial strain, i entered the stress strain curve for the concrete with linear isotropic, concrete and multilinear isotropic in five points as below:strain=0.0004    stress = 12 MpaStrain = 0.001   stress = 30 MpaStrain = 0.0015   stress=37.5 Mpastrain =0.002      stress = 40 Mpastrain = 0.0003   stress = 40 MPai applied the load up to failure, then, i found that at the contact area, the strain =0.003 but the stress = 34 Mpa, however from the stress strain curve which i entered it must be = 40 Mpa.i tried to change the stress strain curve to be the fc'=60 Mpa instead of 40 Mpa(just as a trial). and i applied the same load, i found that the strain at that load = 0.0016 but the stress still = 34 Mpa at the same node i hope if someone helps me, i do not know how i can pass this problem

Hi, we did one of our project of wrapping of RCC beams using CFRP wrapping strips as well CFRP plates from Fosroc. It was excellent project related to one of oil and gas facility and we successfully strengthened the whole structure. Would appreciate if you can also send me your documents so I can have better insight on modelling techniques. My email id is syedmeesamali [at] yahoo.com
