Call for Abstracts in USNC-TAM 2026: Mini-Symposium on Data-Driven Approaches for Solid Mechanics

Submitted by Qizhi He on

The 20th U.S. National Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (USNC-TAM 2026) will be held on June 21–25, 2026, in Pasadena, California. We are pleased to invite submissions to our mini-symposium:

MS 208 - Data-Driven Approaches for Solid Mechanics

organized by Qizhi He (U of Minnesota), Jiun-Shyan Chen (UC San Diego), WaiChing Sun (Columbia), and Nikolaos Vlassis (Rutgers U).

This mini-symposium aims to bring together researchers working at the intersection of solid mechanics, scientific machine learning, and data-driven modeling, with emphasis on physics-informed learning, model-free and multiscale approaches, inverse problems, and differentiable or neural-enriched computational methods.

Researchers from academia, national laboratories, and industry are warmly encouraged to submit abstracts presenting recent methodological advances or applications.

Abstract submission deadline: January 15, 2026
