Looking for Post Doctoral positions in Germany

Submitted by PrajwalSabnis on

Hello to anyone reading this post. I have currently finished my PhD from Mines ParisTech in France involving the computational modelling of crack growth in Nickel base single crystal superalloys. I am presently looking for a Post doctoral position in Germany (Ideally in Munich/Stuttgart area). If you have any open position, please let me know.

Topic 48 (sub-branch): Safety issues during transportation and distribution of oil and gas.

Submitted by victor.adukwu on

Pipeline is a safe and reliable mode of transportation and distribution of oil and gas. It is also an economical and dependable mode of transportation particularly to the sensitive and strategic areas where vessels cannot access easily. It provides a long term infrastructural option and solves difficulties in handling large volume of products by rail from one loading point to another and therefore reduces minimum transit loss.

MIT Postdoctoral Position in Finite Element Analysis for DNA nanotechnology

Submitted by markbathe on

The Laboratory for Computational Biology and Biophysics at MIT (http://lcbb.mit.edu/) is seeking a highly motivated recent PhD graduate with expertise in nonlinear finite element analysis, ideally in the area of beam theory, with a keen interest in applying this knowledge to molecular modeling of DNA-based nanostructures. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, PhD-level training in finite element analysis, and a strong record of publishing archival journal articles.

Modeling of the muscle-like actuation in soft dielectrics: deformation mode and electromechanical stability

Submitted by Bo Li on

Soft dielectric elastomer is able to generate an

electromechanical response in terms of reversible shape

changing, which is a muscle-like behavior. The deformation

and electromechanical stability of dielectric elastomers,

classified by their deformation modes, uniaxial extension,

equal biaxial expansion and pure shear, are investigated.

Pull-in instability occurs in equal biaxial and uniaxial modes

at a small stretch ratio, while the pure shear mode features

wrinkling instability after a large stable deformation. The

*MATRIX GENERATE - Global Stiffness matrix

Submitted by salingerv on

Thank you  for your reply. I know but I was wondering if it is possible to omit them manually.

One more question, I figured that using *MATRIX GENERATE, one could get the global stiffness, mass or load matrix in a ".mtx" file. But I am wondering why I can't get the file after the run.

plotting force- displacement

Submitted by Pooria kh on

Dear friends

I want to plot force-displacement figure for simulation of axial impact in Abaqus;  after using reference points for defining the
displacement and force in tubes and plates , I encounter
two problems:

1)      1)Amount of forces are
negative.

2)      2)I need to filter the figure
because forces have some vibrations in the figure and they are not zero  after rebounding;
they have sine form. So, I have to filter them?

Please let me know how to solve
it.
