The Advanced Interface Design for Extremes (AIDE) Laboratory, led by Dr. Kasra Momeni, invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position in computational materials science. The anticipated start date is Fall 2026 or January 2027, depending on the candidate's availability.
The successful candidate will conduct research on computational modeling of materials across multiple length scales, with an emphasis on developing predictive models for microstructure evolution, deformation, and processing of advanced materials. Depending on the candidate's expertise, research may involve molecular dynamics, phase-field modeling, CALPHAD, finite element analysis, machine learning for materials, and multiscale modeling approaches. The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with researchers from academia, national laboratories, and industry while contributing to ongoing federally funded research projects.
In addition to research, the successful candidate will have opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students, contribute to proposal development, and publish in leading journals.
