Call for abstract-ASME IMECE 2011 Symposium on Integrated Structures and Materials in Advanced Technologies

Submitted by Teng Li on
Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to a Symposium on Mechanics of Integrated Structures and Materials in Advanced Technologies at the ASME 2011 IMECE, to be held Nov 11-17, 2011, at Denver, Colorado. This symposium will be the sixth in such a symposium series organized by ASME Technical Committee of Integrated Structures since IMECE 2006. We hope you can join us and continue the success of this symposium series.

Deadline of abstract submission is Monday, 7 March 2011.

Topics of interests include, but not limited to the following areas:
  • Mechanics and materials in energy systems, such as Li-ion batteries (anodes, cathodes, electrolytes, etc) and fuel cells
  • Mechanics of low-dimensional carbon materials, such as graphene, carbon nanotubes, diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin films
  • Mechanics of flexible and stretchable electronics
  • Mechanics of materials in microelectronics
  • Mechanics and materials in MEMS/NEMS
  • Mechanics of biological and bio-inspired materials and structures
  • Mechanics of nanocomposites
  • Mechanics of soft and active materials
  • Mechanics of multifunctional and smart materials
The confirmed keynote speakers in this symposium include:

Zhigang Suo (Harvard) on Lithium-ion batteries—when mechanics meets chemistry

Huajian Gao (Brown) on Probing mechanical properties of carbon-based nanomaterials and nanodevices

Ganesh Subbarayan (Purdue) on Simulations of Crack Initiation and Propagation in Interlayer Dielectric Stacks: An Evaluation of Chip-Package Interaction

Abstracts can be submitted at:

Please select "Track 12" and then "Topic 34"

We look forward to seeing you in Denver at IMECE 2011.
