Submitted by benzerga on

The Departement of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University

is seeking to fill two positions this year. One position is in the area of

aerospace materials. Details about the position and the application process may be found in the attached file.

As part of its Vision 2020, developed under the leadership of former President

Robert Gates
, Texas A&M University started a few years ago an

unprecedented hiring initiative. This has lead to over 400 new positions

across campus and 100+ positions in the College of Engineering alone.

In particular, the Aerospace Engineering Department has grown substantially

over the past few years. It is currently home to over 30 faculty members and

major research activities, such as the NSF International Materials Institute (IMI)

on Multifunctional Materials for Energy Conversion (iimec.tamu.edu), the

MURI on Functionally Graded Hybrid Composites for Extreme Environments

and the National Center for Hypersonic Laminar-Turbulent Transition Research.

Aerospace engineering faculty members whose research is centered on materials

usually hold a joint appointment in the interdisciplinary Materials Science

& Engineering Graduate Program.
