Northwestern University - Postdoc Position in Lower Limb Prosthetics

We are seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in lower limb prosthetics at the Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center.  Applicants should have expertise in the following areas: solid mechanics, finite element modelling, rapid prototyping and CAD/CAM. The applicant will be expected to apply this knowledge to prosthetic socket development and evaluation , particularly as these objectives relate to biomechanics of human walking. A PhD in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science or relevant engineering discipline is expected. Prior post-doctoral research experience will be viewed favorably. Applicants must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and spoken English skills are essential. This position will require a minimum 2 year commitment conditional to availability of funding. Salary will be based on the successful applicants experience commensurate with NIH post-doctoral stipend levels. 

We are a collaborative team interested in fostering a strong interactive and productive environment. The project involves collaboration between the Northwestern University Departments of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and the Brooke Army Medical Center.
