PhD vacancy on Mechanics of the Nuclear Pore Complex

Submitted by Patrick Onck on

There is a PhD position available at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, to work on the Mechanics of the Nuclear Pore Complex. The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is a large protein complex that is embedded in the membrane of the nucleus and transports hundreds of proteins and nucleic acids per second. Despite its important biological role, the mechanism of selective transport of the NPC is not yet understood. In a collaborative program of the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials at the University of Groningen we aim at a better description of the mechanism of transport by using a modelling approach.

For more information, see the attached file.
