material modeling on 3D braided fibre reinforced composites when subjected to impact loading

Submitted by konanur on

Hi dear members

I am a student doing my Masters in Automotive Engineering at RWTH Aachen and am interested in Structural mechanics. I have done a basic course on mechanics of composite materials and am decently conversant with mechanics of composite laminae. However I am asked to do this mini project where in I am asked to search for a Material model on LS Dyna which is suitable for simulating the crash loading on a 3D braided carbon FRP.

So i have to get familiarised with LS Dyna as well as gain sufficient knowledge on 3D braided composites. hence I request guidance with regard to the study methodology as i have to finish my work in about 3-4 months.

Thanking you in advance for your help

Hi Suhas,
I'm civil engineer and my project is modeling concrete with randomly distributed fibers in impact
I wanted to know if you have finished your work and could you help me in choosing my material for concrete and fibers?

Thanks in advance
