How to define the variable thickness of a shell element in ABAQUS 6.8?

Well i am not quite sure if i got your answer right. But i ll do my best.

If you are working with CAE you can define a variable thickness by defining an analytical filed. Section-->Shell thickness-->Distribution-->Create. Maybe it its better if you define a local COS. So its more comfortable defining a linear function.
