Title of Position: Manager, Methods and New Product Support

Responsibilities: Manage a team of engineers responsible
for the development and validation of predictive methods and tools that will
support reliability and life management assessments of the mechanical
sub-assemblies comprising bottom hole drilling systems. Specifically, this
group will:
- Develop life and design methods
for use in assessments of production, field and new design hardware
challenges and issues. - Develop algorithms and software
to transform proposed life methods into accurate predictive tools. Maintain and improve tools as required. - Validate methods and tools using
actual down-hole data, testing and simulation, and materials data. - Actively seek, propose and drive
technology needs to enhance the state-of-the-art in predictive life
capability. - Work closely with life
management, product reliability and design teams to determine their
needs. Provide a continuous
feedback loop ensuring the latest and greatest methods and tools are
applied. - Direct the offshore team to
support the above activities.
The emphasis in
this group will be on the understanding of component behavior and the
prevention of complex fatigue & fracture mechanisms.
Requirements:
- Strong written and
oral communication and presentation skills. - Strong analytical and
problem solving skills. Strong cross-functional integration and
teaming skills. - Demonstrated team and project
leadership skills, including project planning, resourcing, team building,
and ownership.
Education, Experience and Training:
- BS in Mechanical
Engineering or Applied Mechanics; MS preferred. - 10+ years experience
in mechanical design and/or life management in the Oil and Gas industry or
related field. - 2+ years experience as
a manager. - Background in low
cycle fatigue, crack growth, dynamics and interaction effects. - Proven experience with
industrial finite element model development and analysis. - Strong background in
probability and statistics. - Familiar with
vibration theory; fluid flow and heat transfer.
Compensation/Benefits:

$90K - $130K per
year, depending on background.
