This symposium focuses on fundamental research in mechanical metamaterials' mechanics, design, and applications across various scales. It aims to provide a collaborative platform for researchers to share and discuss novel advancements in mechanical metamaterials and architected structures.

(Note: This symposium accepts technical presentations only.)

Sessions will be organized around the following topics:

·       Mechanics of metamaterials: Analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations into the static and dynamic behaviors of lattice and architected materials. Topics include vibration isolation, wave propagation, mechanical couplings, nonreciprocal behaviors, and other related phenomena.

·       Design and Manufacturing of metamaterials: Innovations in metamaterials with unique mechanical properties, such as negative Poisson’s ratio, negative thermal expansion, negative stiffness, negative compressibility, and non-reciprocity. Emphasis will be placed on both static and dynamic regimes.

·       Active metamaterials: Studies on the design and applications of reconfigurable, morphing, tunable, multi-stable, reciprocal, reprogrammable, and symmetry-breaking mechanical metamaterials, along with other intelligent functional properties.

·       Physical intelligence of metamaterials: Applications of mechanical metamaterials in physically intelligent systems, such as robotic metamaterials, autonomous architectures, and mechanical computing devices.

·       Topology and AI-Driven Optimization: Research on the use of topology optimization and AI tools for designing and improving mechanical metamaterials with enhanced or novel functionalities.

The deadline for abstract submission is March 4th.
