The Department of Wind Energy at the Technical University of Denmark is advertsing new PhD-positions within 15 topics.
The PhD projects #5 to #9 in the Wind Energy Materials and Components Division all relate to wind turbine rotor blades, which are very large composite structures - the largests blades are now exceeding 100 metre in length. The PhD-projects cover various aspects of fibre composites from full blade structural scale down to materials scale.
If you - like me - love mixed mode fracture mechanics of fibre composites, experimental studies and modelling (e.g. by the finite element method), you might be particularly interested in PhD project #7. "Digital twin of new element test specimens".
