Call for Abstracts: Mini-Symposium on Dynamic Fracture of Composites at the 2021 Mach conference
It gives me great pleasure to announce the mini-symposium titled "Characterization and Modeling of Dynamic Fracture of Composites" at the 2021 Mach conference, to be held virtually from April 7 to April 9 2021.
The Mach Conference showcases the state of the art of multiscale research in materials, with an emphasis on advancing the fundamental science and engineering of materials and structures in extreme environments
Conference website: https://machconference.org/
This particular mini-symposium is intended to provide a forum for researchers to present their findings and explore collaboration opportunities on various topics related to modeling and characterization of dynamic fracture in composites at various length scales. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
(i) Strain rate dependence of failure behavior of composites (ii) Continuum scale and multi-scale dynamic fracture modeling techniques (iii) Strain rate dependent damage models or phase field models for composites (iv) Issues underlying their successful calibration, verification and validation (v) Dynamic fracture mechanics based theories for composites (vi) Energy regularization schemes for objective modeling of dynamic crack branching (vii) Microbranching instabilities and damage mechanism transitions. (viii) Novel experimental techniques to characterize dynamic fracture mechanisms in composites
The deadline for abstract submission is Jan. 30th, 2021. Abstracts can be submitted online at the conference website (machconference.org).
