Two PhD positions are available at the University of Southampton in the areas of:
(1) Computational modelling of complex structures and structured materials - especially those fabricated using additive manufacturing,

I am looking for candidates with a strong background in one or more of the following areas: structural mechanics, structural dynamics, vibration, wave propagation, additive manufacturing, applied mathematics. The first post is mostly computational/theoretical with some elements of additive manufacturing. The second post is mostly experimental (vibration measurement) with some elements of theory and additive manufacturing.
Candidates must have a degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, civil, or related) or another numerate discipline (mathematics, physics, mechanics). A master's degree is desirable.

Highly paid PhD positions...
Clarifications:
(1) Applicants do not need to have Enlish Language Proficiency test results at the time of applying. However, they need to have this before they could start a PhD.
(2) Salary range is approx £31k to £35k per annum, which is over double that of a normal PhD studentship.
(3) Deadline 01 October, 2018.
