This post is to remind IMECE Tampa attendees that in addition to the many exciting symposia that have been organized by mechanicians for Track 12---the following key events will also take place:
(1) Plenary lectures sponsored by Applied Mechanics Division, will be given by Professors Subra Suresh and Howard Stone, Tuesday morning, Nov 7th, 8-9:30am;
(2) Koiter Medal lecture, to be given by Professor Wei Yang, Tuesday afternoon, 5:30-6:30 pm, Nov 7th, Tue.
(3) The Applied Mechanics Division Awards Banquet and Reception will begin at 6:30 pm on Nov 7th (Tue) and will confer the following awards: Journal of Applied Mechanics Award (Yihui Zhang), Eshelby Mechanics Award for Young Faculty (Yong Zhu), Thomas J.R. Hughes Young Investigator Medal (Jose Andrade), Caughey Dynamics Medal (Richard Rand), Ted Belytschko Medal (JS Chen), Daniel C. Drucker Medal (David Parks), Warner T. Koiter Medal (Wei Yang), and Timoshenko Medal (Viggo Tvergaard).
