I am trying to make a comparison between methods of applying bolt preloading in Abaqus.
1. bolt load method - which works fine
2. predefined field, initial stress - not really working.
I have created the following steps:
Step
initial - BC + initial state of stress in bolt shank (this step works - see Fig. 3 & 4)
01 (static general) - activating contact elements
02 (static riks) - applying external load
Am I missing something?
Any suggeestions/ideas would be highly appreciated!
