Caterpillar's Product Development Track is 12-18 month multi-rotational program focused on building technical competency within Caterpillar's full product lifecycle of design, test, simulation, and technical support.

 

This position in the Earth Mechanics section of Machine & Machine Systems Research primarily identifies and develops efficient component and system solutions where the machine interacts with the ground.  Team resources extend beyond Caterpillar, including universities, suppliers and national labs.

 

The position is with the Product Development and Global Technology Business Unit located at the Technical Center in Mossville, IL.

Engineers within the program must be willing to travel and relocate domestically.

Required Qualifications:

 

* MS or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. 

* Proficient in Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis non-linear FEA and Explicit Methods applied to Soil/Rock Mechanics problems and constitutive models

* Professional or academic experience with mining, drilling or construction worksites. 

* Experienced in engineering computational programming. 

* Good English language communication skills.   

* Good interpersonal skills.   

* Good planning and organizational skills.

* Must have a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA

 

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

* Experience working with a different unit or working with different products, processes, or systems
