One funded PhD position will be available in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (SUNY). The position will be available in the Fall, 2014. The research area will focus on using bio-MEMS techniques to create novel cell culture platforms for cell mechanics and mechanobiological studies. Projects may include mechanics involved in the fibrosis diseases, cancer invasion and stem cell differentiation. Candidates with photolithography-based microfabrication experience, cell culture experience and strong experimental and analytical solid mechanics background are highly encouraged to apply. For international applicants, TOEFL and GRE are required.
