Postdoctoral Research Associate in Granular Materials under Impact at University of Sydney
An exciting new research position for a Postdoctoral Research Associate is
now available in a project funded by the Australian Research Council, led by Professor Itai
Einav and Dr Luming
Shen. The project is to study fragmentation waves in granular materials,
applicable in geosciences, and in engineering problems of material mining,
petroleum processes, and pharmaceutical operations.
Applicants with research experience in emerging fields of granular materials,
computational mechanics, and/or impact engineering, are strongly invited to
apply. Preference will be given to creative applicants who have a PhD and can
demonstrate experience in shock physics, experimental mechanics, constitutive
modelling, particle-based modelling and fluid mechanics.
The position is full-time fixed-term for three years subject to completion of
a satisfactory probation and confirmation period for new appointees. Membership
of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of
appointment.
Remuneration package: $92K p.a. (which includes a base salary
of $78K p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to
superannuation). Visa sponsorship and some assistance towards relocation
expenses may be available if required.
