Good mourning, i have a question about the use of the cohesive forces models to simulate rupture in materials, since these models are used to evaluate the fracture deformation wich can be evaluated by computing the aire under the traction/separation curve, the qs is: is it possible in the case of matters where there is no enough evedances to know the suseptible path of the crack in case that the structure studied is precracked, is it possible when we intrest only to the structural quantities (such as the plastique deformation energy) to simlify the problem and consider a stight path of propagation of the crack when using cohesive forces models.
