PhD with Wind Energy topic in Bremen/Oldenburg/Hamburg area

Submitted by f.perrone2 on

Hi Everybody,

I am an Italian mechanical engineer. It's one year I've been in the Wind energy business. I served the Fraunhofer IWES in Bremerhaven within the "Simulation and Assessment of Wind Turbines" in the periods March/June 2011 and October 2011/January 2012: I was involved in the modeling of a 3D turbulent wind field approaching the WEC. I developed in Matlab two models: the Sandia Model and the Mann model.

Since March I hold the position of Load Calculation Engineer at Areva Wind GmbH.

I am interested in getting a PhD fellowship in the Bremen/Oldenburg/Hamburg area; possible topics could be:

- Design of Fundation of Offshore WECs;

- Ice induced loads on Offshore WECs;

- Sensitiveness Analysis of Fatigue/ULS loads due to external conditions

I hope somebody of you can offer me a challanging offer.

I thank you in advance.

 Greetings,

Francesco Perrone
