 POST-DOC POSITION

Title : Experimental and numerical study
of the composite materials fatigue under multiaxial loadings

The Polymers and Composites Technology & Mechanical Engineering
Department of the Ecole des Mines de Douai (France) is currently offering a
postdoctoral fellow position aiming at studying the behavior of composite
materials under multiaxial loadings.

The goal
of this post-doc
is to study the influence of multiaxial loading on
fatigue behavior of polymer materials reinforced by continuous fibers.
Biaxial tests on
specific specimens, developed in the Polymers and Composites & Mechanical
Engineering Department of Ecole des Mines de Douai, will
be performed on a multiaxial test bench. Similarly,
monitoring of damage during the tests will be done using
methods developed in the department
(infrared thermography and image
correlation).

Keywords : mechanical
testing, composite materials, infrared thermography

Profile :

Successful candidate for this position should have a PhD in mechanical engineering
as well as a strong background in one or several following areas: mechanical
testing, composite materials characterization, Abaqus and Matlab softwares,
damage mechanics and infrared thermography.

Conditions : The appointment is for 12 months, starting as soon as possible (January
2012). The net salary offered is 2150 €/month.

Interested candidates
should submit curriculum vitae, a cover letter, a statement of research
activities and a publications list to:
