Post-Doctoral Fellow in Computational Structural/Solid Mechanics and Design

Submitted by Masoud Rais-Rohani on

Applicants are sought to fill a post-doctoral position in

computational solid/structural mechanics and design. The selected applicant will work

closely with Prof. Masoud Rais-Rohani and his research colleagues and graduate

students at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) in the Bagley

College of Engineering at Mississippi State University. Applicants must have strong background

in finite element analysis with good knowledge of commercial codes such as ABAQUS, LS-DYNA, or MD Nastran.

Research activities are in support of DOE and NSF funded

projects on simulation-based design of complex structures and will include the

application of microstructure-based constitutive models in high strain rate

problems such as those associated with vehicle crash, nonlinear large

deformation process modeling such as sheet forming and extrusion, coupled

process-performance simulation, and design optimization.

Preference will be given to applicants who have excellent

research record based on scholarly publications and other
accomplishments. This position is for one year starting August 15, 2011.
Interested applicants should send a cover letter describing their
research interests and qualifications for the position together with
their current vitae via e-mail to Dr. Rais-Rohani at
