A postdoctoral researcher position is immediately available at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science in the University of Pittsburgh. The candidate will work on a project studying the surface segregation phenomena in alloy nanoparticles using atomistic simulation techniques. This project involves close collaborations with experimental scientists. The candidate should hold a doctor degree in a relevant discipline, such as Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Chemical Engineering. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in atomistic scale simulations (Density Functional Theory, molecular dynamics, and Monte Carlo methods) and scientific programming (C or Fortran). Prior experience in the use of software VASP and Materials Studio is desirable. A curriculum vita, including a list of publications, and three letters of recommendation should be sent by e-mail to Prof. Guofeng Wang (guw8 [at] pitt.edu).
