Funded PhD positions are available in the department of Structural Engineering and the Program in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in Prof. Semnani’s research group, with start dates of Spring 2026 and Fall 2026. The positions are in the areas of research listed in Prof. Semnani’s group website below:
We are looking for highly motivated and talented individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Materials Science and Engineering. A strong background in computer programming and solid mechanics is a plus.
