We cordially invite you to participate in at the 3rd African Conference on Computational Mechanics - An International Conference – AfriCOMP13 (July 30 – August 2, 2013, Livingston, Zambia) by giving a talk in our minisymposium "Computational modeling of nano- and microstructured materials".
I'm looking for a good quality master's degree in computational mechanics. I currently live in Australia, and would prefer to study in Europe (must be an English based program as well). I have undergradaute degrees in mechanical engineering and computer science.
Two main degrees that stick out for me are the ones at the University of Stuttgart, and the Technical University of Munich.
Dear Colleagues:
Brown University will host the SES 50th Annual Technical Meeting and ASME-AMD Annual Summer Meeting (July 28-31, 2013). It is our great pleasure to welcome you to submit abstracts to the symposium
Crack initiation and growth: methods, applications, and challenges.
A postdoc position is available in Dr. Qi’s group in the
Mechanical Engineering Department at University of Colorado Boulder starting
from April, 2013. The project will involve mechanics and design of polymer
composites. Candidates should have strong background in solid mechanics,
physics and constitutive modeling of polymers, and computational mechanics. Interested
candidates should send his/her CV together with a list of 2-3 references to
qih [at] colorado.edu.
The position concerns contribution to the development of Morfeo, a manufacturing oriented finite element software. For any of the project activities, the candidate is expected to develop the numerical methodology up to industrial maturity. First of all, the candidate will contribute to machining oriented development. Morfeo relies on an innovative approach based on level sets in order to easily handle complex industrial applications. Developments include general modeling of the machining process, remeshing techniques, new boundary conditions, parallel implementation of the algorithms. Targeted applications include e.g. prediction of the distortions generated by the clamping system and relaxation of residual stresses during turning of large-scale components.
Job:
Undertake research as a Postdoc within the project MuSIC - Modeling and SImulation of Cancer growth. This project is funded by an ERC Starting Grant.
The applicants are expected to hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Computational Biology, Computational Biophysics, or a related field. The successful candidate will probably have several publications in international scientific journals. It is assumed that the applicants will have a good command of English language.
Benefits:
