I have looked for the paper "FASTRAN-II [microform] : a fatigue crack growth structural analysis program / J.C. Newman, Jr" for a long time ,but until now ,I have not found it.Is there anyone so kind to help me ??
Thanks a lot .

Hi
I out to gather some good information about afgrow software,it's history, application, how to work with this software, the difference between afgrow and abaqus, and the weakspots of this software, but i know nothing about it, searching in internet were not very useful.
I hope if you can help me.
Thank you very much in advance.

if you send me an email, I can try to send you some reprints but
but I warn you that you are not going to make too much progress until you have a software, and in this case, you could look at AFGROW, which is similar to NASGROW, i.e. similarly problematic and far from giving a reliable estimate of fatigue life!!

Thanks ,Mike Ciavarella、My email address is zhangjiongl@yahoo.com.cn.
thanks.. now abaut CES?
Martin Console
dear Prof. Ciavarella
thanks for these links.
They are useful also for me, I will check them and let you know if it is possible to run AFGROW or NASGROW or both
now I ask you: do you know any links where I can find other support of CES?
thanks again.. see you soon
Martin, CES has crack propagation data, but not a full software

On crack propagation, you don't have a full software do make fatigue life like AFGROW or NASGROW
But CES has apparently now MIL-5-HDBK data.
You will find the MMPDS data in pdf format available freely. It is just
hard to find the fatigue crack growth in it.
If you go to
www.matdata.net
You will find more information from the ASM and other websites.
Also on the metals side they have been involved in the www.MI-21.com
project.
Some of these services need a subscription but I hope you will find it
useful.

MIL-HDBK-5H: Metallic Materials and Elements for Aerospace Vehic
This free access to an older version of the MIL-HDBK-5
data is provided as a service to our customers and to allow
you to
assess the value of this data if you are considering purchase
of the
up-to-date MMPDS database.
Use the left panel to browse MIL-HDBK-5H: Metallic
Materials and Elements for
Aerospace Vehicle Structures.
Version H (published 1 Dec 1998) is
an older version of this authoritative reference source for
property data and
design allowables.
There have been multiple updates to this information since this
publication.
The MIL-HBK-5 has also changed its name to to MMPDS (Metallic
Materials
Property Data Standardization). The lates version available from
Granta is MMPDS-04.
Note that the Granta version of the MMPDS database is a 'live'
database as well as offering a simple PDF view such as that provided
here.
