Postdoc and PhD positions in LEM3, Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Metz-Lorraine

The LEM3 laboratory (UMR 7239) of Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Metz-Lorraine announces 2 postdoc positions and 1 PhD position.

Postdoc position 1

Subject: Influence of microstructural parameters in service performance of automotive components consisting of SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) and SMC hybrid.
It is a project of LEM3 of Arts et Metiers ParisTech Metz, Loraine funded by external collaborator (American Company OWENS CORNING). 
Program duration 18 months, initial contract for one year.
Salary:  approximately 2000-2200 euros net.
Starting date: ASAP.

The project contains a) theoretical part, based on micromechanics theory (eshelby type theories) or/and homogenization approaches, b) experimental part.
The project cosists of the following stages:
- Identify the microstructural parameters that effect the macrobehavior and the performance to damage,
- integrate microstructural study for modeling components (applications),
- validation with experiments (pull-out tests, e.t.c.).

Postdoc position 2

Topic: High cycling fatique - damage accumulation for aluminium under thermomechanical loading.
Research program of LEM3 funded by CERA Auto Supplies.
Salary: approximately 2000 to 2200 net.
Initial contract for 1 year.

PhD position

Topic: Damage investigation of composite materials using ultrasonics: experimental and modeling studies.
Research program of LEM3 funded by Peugeot.
Salary: approximately 2000 gross.

The project contains a) experimental part and b) theoretical part, based on the experimental results from the ultasonic studies. Modeling and micromechanical analysis will be performed.
