Composite crushing + CZONE application

Hello,

I am modelling a crushing simulation of a composite corrugated coupon using Abaqus/Explicit and CZONE Abaqus' application.

modelling progressive impact damage in Abaqus

Hi,

Iwant to model progressive impact damage problem in Abaqus. I know the theory, but I don't know how to use Abaqus to modeling damage. is there any example, tutoial or etc to help me?

thanks

Modelling of fiber failure in Abaqus

Fiber Modelling of fiber failure in Abaqus ABAQUS, Fiber failure, failure criteria , Fiber Composite  , composite I am presently working on modelling of fiber failure inof a composite lamina on ABAQUS. After researching a lot, Even after researching a lot, I haven't been able to find a damage criteria which  can depict natural failure in of a fiber. I do not want to induce a crack in it and break it or put in a cohesive layer. I want to break it as it breaks naturally.

Crack propagation in composites in presence of shear and pressure loads

Hi,

Assume that we have a composite structure consists of isotropic layers with a delamination (separation) between the layers. There is a compressive load
applying normal to layers surfaces and hence normal to the delamination (crack) which closes the delamination, and a shear load tangential to the crack surface.

the order of shear force is much smaller than the compressive load. can the delamination propagate du to this shear force?

energy balance of surface-based cohesive of composite under impact in Absqus 6-10

Hi there! I am really new to Abaqus and I need to model a composite
laminated crash cone under impact to a flat solid wall (analytical
surface is used). I modelled a cone with a layers of conventional shell
elements with hashin failure criteria and surface-based cohesive
behaviour as interaction between layers representing the interface of
composite laminates. The model runs successfully but once I checked the
energy balance, the damage dissipation energy from the cohesive, it
turned out to be NEGATIVE (I think this is wrong).

Need recommendation of PhD courses

Hi I am a PhD. Student at Aalborg University at Department for Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in Denmark. In short my PhD project treats modeling delamination damage in laminated fibrous composite structures under quasi-static and cyclic loading. I am having a hard time finding good relevant PhD-courses so now I am turning to you to ask you if you can recommend any good courses falling under the following criteria:

Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Computational Solid Mechanics at KAUST

A postdoctoral position is avilable in the Composite and Heterogeneous Materials Modeling and Simulation (COHMAS) Laboratory at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). The successful candidate will be engaged in modeling and simulation of degradation in composite materials.
