Looking for a doctoral position in the field of (solid) computational mechanics

Hello, My name is Nguyen Van Chau, an engineer at Mitsubishi Motor Company, Japan. I have been working on some projects which relate in structure analysis, fluid analysis for automobile since 2009/01. I am finishing my work and therefore seeking for a doctoral position starting after 2011/12.

My expertise in computational solid mechanics includes:

(1) Structure Analysis (HyperWork, Nastran, Femap).

(2) Discontinuous computational modelling of fracture of solids. I also work on continuous modelling of failure using generalized constitutive models such as the gradient damage or non-local damage models (C/C++, Fortran, Abaqus).

Advanced Ansys on Fracture and others

Dear alls,

 I am intersting in computational mechanics and now post some references which relate to ansys.

May be you know command KSCON, which is use for make concentration mesh at crack tip. I known how to use this command but very intersting its Ansys APDL code. So I am looking Ansys APDL code for KSCON command. If anybody know code fot that command, could you please send me?

Thank you.

Chau Nguyen

Find arrest time of crack by using strain gages

I have experiment by using strain gages series which mounted along crack path propagation direction, I can find exactly the initatial time of crack but not know how to find arrest time of crack. Crack tip stops between 2 strain gages and the signal of them can be got. Following is the Figure of strain gage mounted on specimen.

Energies Fracture

Dear,

 Please show me what are and how to determine the Kinetic energy, Strain energy, Fracture energy during propagating of crack.

Thanks,

Dynamic J-integral are independent path

Dear Alls;

Would you please explain for me why Dynamic J-integral increases when crack propagates, and why Dynamic J-integral are independent with difference paths.

Best Regards;

Chau
