 At the Division of Mechanics of Functional Materials in the institute of Materials Science, TU Darmstadt a Ph.D position is to be filled as soon as possible. The position is scheduled for three years.

 Tasks and Opportunities

The objective is Finite Element Simulation on viscoelastic and electromechanical behavior of porous ferroelectrets. In particular, different mechanisms which play influential roles in aging and fatigue of the ferroelectrets will be revealed.

A constraint-free phase field model for ferromagnetic domain evolution

A continuum constraint-free phase field model is proposed to simulate the magnetic domain evolution in ferromagnetic materials. The model takes the polar and azimuthal angles (ϑ1, ϑ2), instead of the magnetization unit vector m(m1,m2,m3), as the order parameters. In this way, the constraint on the magnetization magnitude can be exactly satisfied automatically, and no special numerical treatment on the phase field evolution is needed.

The 23rd International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics  (ICTAM2012) will be held in Beijing, China, from 19 to 24 August, 2012. The Congress is hosted by The Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM).



  The Congress venue is the China National Convention Center (CNCC) which is ideally located in the heart of the Olympic Green of Beijing, adjacent to the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) and the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube).
