WCCM IX. The abstract outlining the objectives of this integrative
mini-symposium is enclosed to this post as plain text and also as a

The 9th World Congress on Computational Mechanics (www.wccm2010.com)
is going to be held in Sydney from July 19th to July 23rd, 2010. The
guidelines concerning the submission of abstracts can be found on the
dedicated web page of the conference .

Pierre-Gilles
de Gennes, 74, a pioneer in the field of liquid crystals and recipient
of the 1991 Nobel Prize in Physics, died on May 18 at his home in
Orsay, near Paris. The cause of death was not reported. In a statement,
French President Nicolas Sarkozy described de Gennes as "an exceptional
physicist and one of our greatest scientists."
