A Postdoctoral Research Associate Position is available immediately in Professor R. Thevamaran’s laboratory (https://thevamaran.engr.wisc.edu) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The research will focus on design, fabrication, micro/nanostructural characterization, and thermo-mechanical testing, and modeling of carbon nanotube-based hierarchical composites. The candidate will get opportunities to work in a dynamic team focusing on challenging interdisciplinary composite materials research to enable next generation space structures. Highly motivated scholars with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Materials Science and Engineering with research expertise in mechanics of materials are encouraged to apply. Prior experience on fabrication and testing of composite materials and nanofibrous yarns, microstructural characterizations, and additive manufacturing is desirable.
Interested recent graduates, or students who will be graduating soon shall email Prof. Thevamaran with their CV, two significant publications, and a cover letter. The one-page cover letter should clearly describe your prior research experience, research interests, and your fit to the research focus of Thevamaran Laboratory. The research at Thevamaran Lab will offer prospects of working on challenging research problems in an energetic team with ample opportunities for collaboration across disciplines.
