The Postdoc will work in the field of experimental mechanics of geological materials, with a particular focus on developing and using in-situ laboratory and synchrotron X-ray measurements (imaging and diffraction) to study quasi-static and dynamic deformation mechanisms of rocks and granular materials. Individuals are sought who have:

(1)  A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field,

(2)  Significant research expertise in experimental mechanics, preferably with experience in making laboratory or synchrotron X-ray measurements, and strong fundamentals in continuum mechanics.

Interested and qualified applicants should send a copy of their CV with a list of references to rhurley6@jhu.edu
