Dear Mechanicians, dear colleagues, dear authors and readers of scientific publications,

We are very happy to inform you that the first overlay journal in mechanics, which was launched in August 2020, has just published its first paper.

Doitrand, A., Henry, R. & Meille, S. Brittle material strength and fracture toughness estimation from four-point bending test, Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics, Mar 2021. DOI: 10.46298/jtcam.6753. It is attached below.

Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics (JTCAM) is a fully electronic Diamond Open Access journal which targets high quality publications both from scientific and copy-editing points of view. The former is ensured by a strong and dynamic team of Associate Editors and a rigorous peer-review process, the latter, the copy-editing and technical support, is ensured by a team of dedicated Technical Editors. The Diamond Open Access model of the journal implies that all the publications are free of charge both for readers and authors. The Overlay model of publication means that preprints and accepted papers with journal style formatting are made available on open archives such as arXiv and HAL.

To give some more news from the journal. Currently, we have four more accepted paper, which are in copy-editing phase. Ten other papers are under review. If you are looking for a high quality platform for your future scientific publications, if you agree that they have to be freely shared with everybody in the World without any paywall not for readers nor for authors, consider JTCAM for your future submissions!

We invite you to share this information about the first paper in the first overlay journal in solid mechanics with your colleagues!
