Technicians/Service Engineers at DTU Nanolab

 

 

We are looking for several technicians/service engineers

We are seeking curious and dedicated candidates to join our technical support teams. We are a multi-gender workplace and strongly encourage candidates of all genders to apply. We also encourage both experienced technicians as well as newly educated candidates with a background from “IT and electronics” or “Mechanics/Machines/Mechatronics” to apply.

You should have a desire to learn and try new things. You will be working in a team where we strive for a high degree of job satisfaction and self-management. Our tools typically involves vacuum, electronics, pneumatics, as well as gas and control systems. We do not expect anyone to start out as expert in all these areas. Thus the ideal candidate is able to work independently, be conscious of own limitations, be willing to ask others for help when needed and able to communicate both verbally and written in English.

Job description

We have two open positions. For both positions, you should:

  •      Help ensure high uptime of the equipment through planned maintenance
  •         Carry out faultfinding, root cause analyses and repair of equipmen
  •      Project work such as machine upgrades or new installation
  •      Communicate clearly to your colleagues and document work status

 

Position 1: Technician / service engineer for plasma etching
Your main working area will be equipment used for etching with plasmas. Plasma etching offers many possibilities for nanofabrication. Most of the tools are located inside our 1400m2 cleanroom facility, where the major part of your working day will take place.

Position 2: Technician / service engineer for microscopy
Your main working area will be microscopy equipment used for characterization on the smallest scales. We primarily have scanning electron microscopes and transmission electron microscopes, located in a specially constructed building. For this position, you can expect a bit of travel (10-15 days/year) in the first couple of years since some of the tool training will take place at the manufacturers’ sites.

Terms of employment
The appointment will be based on either the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC), the OAO-collective agreement and HK/Stat or Håndværkere i staten (Craftsmen), the organizational agreement Assistant engineers and research technicians at research institutions, etc., research technicians at Risø, etc. or other relevant agreement.

DTU Nanolab is a common nanofabrication and characterization research infrastructure located at, and fully owned by the Technical University of Denmark, DTU in Lyngby. We provide access to state of the art tools, instrumentation and expertise to more than 500 users from academia and industry in Denmark as well as abroad. Our expertise is research based.
