Postdoc position in Mechanics of Advanced 3D-printed Materials and Structures at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology

A postdoctoral position is available as early as Fall 2019 at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Candidates holding a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field with a strong interest in mechanics of 3D-printable polymer composites and architectured materials are encouraged to apply.

 

The research group utilizes a mix of theory, numerical modeling, and experiments for the development of new functional light-weight materials and structures for aeronautical applications, in particular, for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The ideal candidates must demonstrate the following:

• solid background in nonlinear elasticity or viscoelasticity

• experience in finite element simulations

• strong experimental skills (preferably in fracture mechanics)
