ES 240 problem 6

My name's Alison Forsyth, I'm a G2 biomedical engineer at Harvard.  I did my undergrad at Syracuse University where I majored in bioengineering.  Prior courses in solid mechanics are: mechanics of materials, materials processing and properties, and advanced biomechanics.

I guess my strength related to this course might be my ability to think about mechanical problems conceptually.  My downfall is always my math.  I'm currently in Kit Parker's disease biophysics group and I'm working on quantifying vascular smooth muscle contractility in vitro.  Solid mechanics will play an intrical role in data analysis throughout the project.  I also think solid mechanics is an important foundation to have in cardiovascular research.
