Tenure-track Faculty Position at University of Rhode Island

Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering in Mechanical Systems/Robotics

The Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Systems Engineering has an opening at the Assistant Professor level for an outstanding individual with demonstrated expertise and research potential in Dynamics and Control, and is seeking an exceptional person who will be expected to become an international leader in this field. A PhD in mechanical engineering or closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Candidates should also have a demonstrated track record of scholarly activity in one or more system dynamics/robotics related areas such as: robotic surgery, mobile robots, exoskeletons, autonomous vehicles and drones, complex system dynamics and control, system identification, system health monitoring, diagnosis and prognosis. The successful candidate should have the ability to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering while conducting high-quality research.
