Faculty Opening: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Experimental Biomechanics, Mechanobiology and Biophysics

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston (UH) invites
applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty position, at all levels, beginning Fall 2015 or later.
 Successful candidates are expected to establish an internationally recognized
dynamic research program in the area of experimental biomechanics and
mechanobiology. Special preference would be given to those pursuing cellular
level and/or single molecule studies of living systems with emphasis on
healthcare applications.

As part of a major drive for excellence, including the recent designation of UH as
a Tier One university, the Cullen College of Engineering has a strong
commitment to expand as well as advance the quality of our engineering research
programs. UH is Texas' premier public metropolitan research and teaching
institution with close to 40,000 students. Houston is home to the Texas Medical
Center, the largest medical center in the world, and the NASA Johnson Space
Center, offering excellent local collaboration opportunities.

Applicants must have earned a PhD in a relevant area of physical sciences or engineering. Senior
level applicants must demonstrate a strong record of scholarship, and external
funding, as well as a commitment to teaching. Candidates should send a cover
