Research Position at the Institute of Applied Mechanics, TU Braunschweig

We offer a research position in the area of Computational Mechanics with a focus on isogeometric analysis and collocation methods applied to multiscale material modeling, beginning January 1st, 2015. The position is full-time fixed-term for 3 years.

The position is associated with the project "Isogeometric and stochastic collocation methods for nonlinear, probabilistic multi-scale problems in continuum mechanics - development of non-conventional discretization methods, and mechanical and mathematical analysis", which is supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Applicants should possess the following qualifications/attributes:

(a) a degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Physical Sciences;

(b) a solid background in continuum mechanics and numerical methods, and excellent programming skills;

(c) strong motivation and enthusiasm to carry out high-quality research;

(d) ability to work in team but also independently;

(e) proficiency in English. Proficiency in German constitutes an important preferential factor.
