Professor T.H. Lin passed away

A message from Woody Ju.  It is with deepest sadness and sorrow that I inform you that Professor T.H. Lin, our kindest role model and gentleman, passed away on June 18, 2007; he was 96 years old. Prof. Lin worked until last Friday.

He is survived by his sons (Prof. Robert Lin of UC Berkeley, Prof. Jim Lin of UCSD) and his daughter (Rita).

Prof. T.H. Lin was the Father of Aviation in China, a member of NAE (1990), a recipient of the ASCE Von Karman Medal (1988), and a major contributor to applied mechanics community. He received his MS degree from MIT and PhD from the Univ. of Michigan,
Ann Arbor.

We are making arrangement for the memorial service in LA.
