Postdoctoral opportunity at Johns Hopkins University

Profs. Michael Shields and Lori Graham-Brady at Johns Hopkins University are seeking a postdoctoral scholar for a joint collaborative program on uncertainty quantification of mechanical property predictions based on data-driven and/or machine learning models. In the short term, the focus of this project will be on developing UQ tools for Deep Neural Network models that connect image data to material properties. In the longer term this is expected to expand to a spectrum of ML and other data-driven models.

Research Faculty Position at the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute, Johns Hopkins University

The Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a research professor (at any rank) in the broad area of dynamic behavior of materials and structures. See attached for more information.

2nd Annual Mach Conference, Annapolis MD, April 9-11,2014

The Mach Conference showcases the state of the art of multiscale research in materials, with an emphasis on advancing the fundamental science and engineering of materials and structures in extreme environments.

Abstracts are due January 6, 2014. For more information, please go to the conference website machconference.org.
