Design and testing of tubular polymeric capsules for self-healing of concrete

Submitted by shavijabranko on

Dear all,

Our group has recently published a paper on "Design and testing of tubular polymeric capsules for self-healing concrete". We have combined experiments and numerical simulations in order to optimize polymeric carrier capsules for their use in self-healing concrete. Interested? You can read the full paper at: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/320657352_Design_and_testing_o…

On the Potential of Lattice Type Model for Predicting Shear Capacity of Reinforced Concrete and SHCC Structures

Submitted by shavijabranko on

Discrete approaches can be used in various areas of engineering and science.

Our group at TU Delft has recently published a paper on simulating shear failure in reinforced concrete using discrete (lattice) models. The paper can be found at: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/317617956_On_the_Potential_of_…;

Abstract:

Bio-based Self-healing Mortar: An Experimental and Numerical Study

Submitted by shavijabranko on

Recent years have seen a lot of development in the field of self-healing materials. Our group at Delft University is working (for more than a decade) on development of self-healing concrete which uses bacterial spores embedded in the matrix to "heal" cracks. In recent years, the focus has shifted on development of numerical models as tools for development of these materials.

Experimental and numerical study of crack behaviour for capsule-based self-healing cementitious materials

Submitted by shavijabranko on

Dear all,

Our group at Delft University is developing self-healing concrete for over a decade. Recently, they have published a combined experimental and modeling study related to designing these materials. More details are available at https://www.researchgate.net/publication/319542777_Experimental_and_num…
