Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials now accepts MATLAB figure files

You can enrich your online articles by providing supplementary MATLAB figure files with the .FIG file extension. These files will be visualized using an interactive viewer that allows readers to explore your figures within the context of the article. The FIG files can be uploaded in our online submission system, and will also be available for downloading from your online article on SciVerse ScienceDirect.

Kerry Rowe, Editor of Geotextiles and Geomembranes, receives EIC’s highest award

The Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) has awarded Kerry Rowe the Sir John Kennedy Medal, “EIC’s highest award, in recognition of outstanding merit in the engineering profession, or of noteworthy contributions to the science of engineering, or to the benefit of the Institute”.  Kerry is Editor of Geotextiles and Geomembranes, and a member of the editorial board of Computers and Geotechnics.

New Editorial Structure for Construction and Building Materials Journal

Professor Luigia Binda, one of the foremost authorities in masonry research, and in particular the restoration of historic buildings, steps down from her role as European Regional Editor of the journal. Professor Andrew Boyd, from McGill University, Canada and Professor Amir Mirmiran from Florida International University, USA who served as North American Regional Editors for the past four years, are also retiring.

WOM 2013 - First Announcement and Call for Papers - deadline 1 June 2012

The 19th International Conference on Wear of Materials with take place in Portland, Oregon, USA, 14-18 April 2013. Two typed of papers ar invited: 1) full-length research-qulity papers that involve materials aspects of wear, wear analysis and wear modeling, and 2)shorter, concise case studies. Both categories of papers will be peer reviewed for technical quality.
