This conference will take place in Hawai'i, USA, 11-14 December 2011

 Themes covered will include:

• Natural, biologically inspired and biomimetic materials• Hard (e.g. bone, teeth, metals, ceramics) and soft (e.g.cartilage, tendon, silk, polymers) tissues and materials• Mechanobiology, regenerative medicine and tissue engineering• Multiscale modelling and simulation of mechanical properties• Multiscale experimental characterization of biological tissues, including AFM, nanoindentation, optical tweezers

6th International Conference on Fracture of Polymers, Composites and Adhesives - Final call for papers

Submitted by Laure Ballu on

Final call for papers - deadline 5 November 2010

There are only a few days left to submit your papers, if you haven't already done so. All you have to do is go to http://www.tc4pca.elsevier.com/abstractsubmission.asp

We are inviting authors to submit 300 words abstract for oral and poster presentation at the conference. New developments and innovative applications are especially welcome in the following subject areas:

6th International Conference on Fracture, Composites and Adhesives 11-15 September 2011

Submitted by Laure Ballu on

This will be the 6th International Conference in the series organised by the European Structural Integrity Society - Technical Committee 4 on Fracture Mechanics related to Polymers, Polymeric Composites and Adhesives. We are again inviting papers in the areas reflecting the current and future interests of TC4 as listed below.

Both experimental and analytical work is sought in order to give a balanced view of the subject areas:

ICoBT 2011 - The International Conference on BioTribology - 18-21 September 2011 - Abstract submissions now open

Submitted by Laure Ballu on

ICoBT 2011 is a new conference which will be held at Imperial College London from 18-21 September 2011. Contributions are welcomed from scientists, engineers and clinicians working in the fields of orthopaedic surgery, dentistry, biomechanics, biomaterials, cosmetic chemistry, biophysics and biomimetics. Abstract submissions are now open!

WOM 2011 - 18th International Conference on Wear of Materials, Philadelphia, USA - Call for stand alone posters.

Submitted by Laure Ballu on

Submissions are now closed for oral presentations to WOM 2011, however, contributions are invited for stand-alone posters. WOM 2011 is to take place in Philadelphia, USA - April 3-7 next year.  It will focus on both the fundamental and applied aspects of wear and friction of materials at the macro-, micro- and nano-scale. Special emphasis will be placed on wear issues in harsh environments, energy conversion, and debris particle generation and its impact on the environment.
